Not everyone stays forever. That’s one of the first truths I learned in this world.
People will enter your life — your streams, your work, your community — and sometimes, they’ll drift away. Some vanish silently, others with a word, a farewell, or a thank you. And sometimes, they don’t say anything at all, or even block you.
In the beginning, I took that silence as loss. I thought it was my failure. I thought it meant I wasn’t enough. But with time, I’ve come to understand something: ghosts still belong to the story.
I always invested more than just time and imagination. So, I took it personally. Because of my emotions invested in, it hurt. It felt like someone dear to me has abandoned me, leaving me alone in this world to fight further.
What I Mean by “Ghosts”
“Ghosts” are the ones who once stood close, but no longer do. They are fans, friends, clients, or even fellow creators. They were part of your journey for a while, and now they’ve moved into the shadows.
It doesn’t mean they stopped caring. It doesn’t mean their presence wasn’t real. It simply means their chapter in your life ended. And that’s okay. Believe me, it took me years to understand. Sometimes, I still feel abandoned and hurt when that happens. But I finally understood I was selfish and wrong.
For my Fans:
If you’ve ever supported me — whether for one night or for years — know this: you mattered. You still matter.
Every tip, every comment, every shared moment helped shape me. Helped shape my dreams. Even if you drift into silence, your echo remains. Your energy lingers in this space, part of the foundation that others now walk on.
So if you ever choose to ghost me, I don’t resent you. I remember you. With gratitude. Always.
I just hope and pray you are doing well and at some point we will meet again.
For Creators/Performers:
Ghosts are part of our reality. People come and go. Supporters leave. Communities shift. If you cling to every departure as if it’s your fault, you’ll burn out quickly. Despite my past experience, I’ve been clinging too the past few months. I felt sad, alone, and depressed under various life circumstances.
Yes, in the past months, I had many who stood with me for years. I never thought they would drift away. And yet, one day they did. Not a word, not a goodbye, not a single word. Then I remembered this quote:
“If you love someone, let them go. If they return, they were always yours. If they don’t, they never were”
And was like a wake up call for me. Let their time with you mean what it meant — and then release them. Their absence makes room for others. Their echo strengthens your story.
When you stop fearing the loss, you stop creating out of desperation. You start creating out of love again.
The Ritual of Letting Go
In stories, ghosts are not erased — they haunt, they echo, they remind. And in truth, our lives work the same way. The people who’ve left don’t vanish from the narrative. They still linger in our memory, in their lessons, in the energy they gave.
I will always cherish those moments and hold them dear.
The circle of community is never closed forever. Some will never return, and that is their path. Others will wander back one night, unexpectedly. The door is always open.
So whether you are a fan, a creator/performer like me, or someone passing through — know this: it’s okay if you ever ghost me.
Ghosts are not our failures.
Ghosts are still and should be remembered.
Ghosts still belong to our story.
Personal Fact:
I do tend to ghost also in real life because I am an introvert and need my time alone.
